When I have a moment to let my mind wander, I always find myself thinking about life in general and the very important people that we spend it with. I can't help, but realize that each and every person I've come into contact with along my little journey has made a significant impact on me and the way I choose to live my life.
Losing someone that you care about is probably the time in life that most people start to reflect on how that person has changed you. No doubt, the people that love me and are still with me along this journey we call life make significant impacts on me day to day. As emotional beings, that's too difficult to shut off.
People that come into and go out of our lives always leave a mark on you... sometimes big, sometimes small, sometimes good and sometimes bad. What I am learning is that I am grateful for each and every one of these people because they've taught me lessons and given me the strength to make it in this complex world.
We have all been handed things in life that we wish we weren't. The challenge is to realize that everything that has come your way, has made you the person that you are today. We can take those experiences and apply them to our lives in ways that hurt us, or we can choose to apply them in ways that help us. We can choose to learn from the bad experiences and use that to our advantage. Once we've stepped in the dog poo, we learn to watch where we step in the future.
I think too much and I have too much time to think. Maybe I'll write a book one of these days.

I love to ponder the meaning of life...still haven't figured it out.
