9 days early and almost a Halloween baby, Oliver Thomas decided to join the world at 12:35am, October 30th! He weighed in at 7lbs, 9oz and measured 20 inches long.
I woke up on the 29th around 7am and felt like I was having contractions. They were fairly light for most of the day, but never let up. I stayed home from work and Brian and I timed them for most of the day. We packed up the car and just went about normal business for the most part. Stopped at the dentist for Brian's appointment, took a nap (or at least I attempted to) and then about 6pm I thought they were getting stronger and Brian said that they were about 3.5 to 4 minutes apart. I still wasn't sure if they'd send us home, but thought we'd better check it out and be on the safe side. Good thing too! At the hospital I was already dialated to 4cm and 80-90% effaced. We took a 30 minute walk around the hospital, got checked again and I was at a 5! Went for another 10 minute walk and then my water broke IN the hallway. By the time we got back to triage and they wheeled me down to our room I was at an 8 already! At this point, there was not doubt in my mind that I wanted the epidural. Got hooked up with the good stuff and was feeling MUCH better in no time. I started pushing at 12:05 and by 12:35 he was here!
We've spent the last couple days enjoying all of the wonderful family time and are just loving our new little boy. Here are a few much anticipated pictures of him :)

Beautiful baby and beautiful family!! Congrats...love you guys.
Congrats again! He is so adorable. I'm glad you had an easy labor and delivery. Will you be home with him for a while? How is the zoo adjusting to him?
Hope you are adjusting well. He really is the cutest little boy ever!! After you are all adjusted I want to come and see him again. :) Call if you need anything. :)
Oh my gosh, he has changed so much already!!! I can't believe how much hair he has. It doesn't look curly anymore...must have just been the baby goo that made it look wet and curly. He is so adorable! Way to go mom! ;)
