Next week I will be starting a 6-month, paid internship in the Human Resources Department at my current company. I'm super excited and equally as nervous about it! It will actually be in the Learning and Development Services group and I will be learning about how to keep and create talent in the workforce. Their "clients" are managers at the company and they find ways to bring education to their employees and help move the right people to the right positions to make the company work in the most effective way possible.
I had a couple of options for a possible new career venture, but this one seemed the most beneficial to my long term goals. It is going to keep us in Arizona for at least the next 6 months, but we haven't had any options for anything in any other states just yet anyway! I'm hoping that this experience will help me gain some invaluable skills and make my resume look that much more attractive to positions that are more in line with my degree than administrative work. I've been doing admin work for the last 9 years! It's about time this little lady spread her wings a bit! Super excited. Wish me luck! :)

Hey that's great! Congratulations! My first job out of college was a paid internship too. I worked for the Disney corp for about 6 months before moving on to something I felt a bit more attracted to. We all start somewhere and the experience is exactly what you need to diversify your resume. Good luck!
