Baby Update and Fun With Yarn

I went to the doctor today for my monthly check up and I've gained a total of 16 pounds, my belly is measuring right about 19 weeks and Baby #2's little heartbeat was going 160 BPM :)  I was also cleared to schedule THE ultrasound which we will be having this Friday morning!   When the doc placed the heart monitor on my belly, he seemed to be searching for the heartbeat - which at first makes a mommy nervous, but then he commented that the baby was "running away from him" haha!  I wonder if that says something about this little one's personality?  Only time will tell!  Stay tuned for updates from Friday's upcoming appointment :)

I wanted to share a few of my crochet projects with you now that I have a few that are turning out!  The first picture here is a baby blanket, still in progress.  I'm waiting to find out what we're having to see if I should add a block of blue or a block of pink to this blankie. It's not the prettiest blanket, but its my first one, so I figure it can only get better from here.  When I told Oliver I was making a blankie, he said, "Yeah Mom.  Make a taggie"  If you know anything about Oliver's sleeping habits, he has a favorite blankie which has a tag in the corner that he's stroked so much it is now tattered, torn and grey (no matter how many washes it goes through!).  Kid likes his taggie.  I might have to add a special taggie to this blanket just because.

 This second picture is a headband for a friend's baby girl.  Flower still needs some work, but you get the idea.

And of course, my most successful project thus far have been this pair of green socks.  I've had a bunch of requests for these so I've started a pair of purple ones for my sis.  Sisters get top priority, don't ya know.
