Mama Gettin Crafty

A couple of newly finished crochet projects.  The hat is for our little Eva - I know she'll be born in the summertime, but it was fun to make anyway.  Below is her baby blanket :)

I found a recipe online for these crockpot apples and they were super delish!  Kind of like an apple pie without the crust.  If you are interested in the simple recipe, let me know.

Other than keeping myself busy at home these days, I'll be flying out to Arizona (thanks to friends and family) for a super girly baby shower in February.  So very excited!  Oliver and Daddy will be staying home that weekend and getting themselves into some boy stuff, I'm sure.

I've also been occassionally nannying an 18-month old when the opportunity arises for some extra cash.  His mother is scheduled for a C-section to welcome his baby brother into the world on Februray 5th and I'll be taking on that well paying job also :)

All in all, I've been keeping myself busy while waiting for Eva.  Once she's here I have no doubt that I'll have more than enough stuff filling my days!  Can't wait :)

I know who you are Becky! Here is the recipe :)

Ingredients
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
2 tablespoons trans-fat free margarine
1 teaspoon cinnamon
6 Gala or Macintosh apples, cored
1/2 cup apple juice or apple cider
2 tablespoons orange liquor (optional)

Directions
Preheat a large crock-pot on high heat and preset it for 3 hours. In a large bowl, mix brown sugar, walnuts, margarine, and cinnamon. Fill the apples with the filling and place them in the crock-pot. Pour in the apple juice or cider and the liquor, if using. Cover and cook 2 1/2 to 3 hours on high heat until the apples are soft and begin to collapse.

I am using your recipe tomorrow!!! That looks so good! You are comepletely domestic and I can't believe you crafted that hat all by yourself. I've been knitting for years and still can only manage to make scarves because they just go in a straight line!
