Brian has been sticking with his intense new workout schedule and he has been on a diet, well we both have actually. He's been talking to his doctors about the joining the Marines and they are giving advice on what he needs to do to prepare. We are both getting pretty excited about this venture.
I've also basically cut our spending to the ABSOLUTE minimum in an attempt to get us back on track financially. It's been a change for us, but it actually reminds me of the first years I was out of my parents' house so I'm not completely in shock. Can't say that Brian is used to living this way so much, but he is doing a fantastic job and giving up quite a bit these days.
I must say that I feel that lately we are much closer and more appreciative of each other than we ever have been and I have to attribute that to the amount of stress and upsetting situations that we've dealt with these last several months and our ability to see each other through. Also, the amount of drive that Brian is showing towards this Marines thing has really given me a new found respect for him. I can already see the change in him with the idea that he is working towards something that he really believes in and is excited about. My fears about the intensity of the boot camp and challenges to follow, are quickly diminishing. I've never seen him so excited about anything like this before.
So, in other words, the depression in our household is lifting! We are even pushing our temptation to "baby" our dog aside to teach him better manners. He's already listening to me a whole lot more. Kitty? Well, she's another story... :)

Amazing! Glad to hear things are looking up in your world. Crazy what a little change can do to your life, isn't it? Makes you step up and take those challenges head on. Sending more good energy your way as you guys shift into this new chapter of your lives...
Yay! I'm so excited that things are going so well. You have to hand it to Bri, when he puts his mind to something he never goes half-way. I'm glad you guys are being so supportive of each other, it really makes a difference and honestly you'll come out stronger in the end. Go Cobabes!
How fantastic! I'm so happy for the two of you =)
I'm glad things are going better! Just take it one day at a time and try to enjoy every aspect of life.
